IN YOUR EYES (10) brings the strongest exposed profile, resuming from a five-month break after consecutive seconds at Kochi when heavily fancied. Her record at this track and distance reads well, and the leading jockey-trainer combination adds further weight to the case, though she still has to convert after twice being beaten as odds-on favourite. MEISHO HABOMAI (3) is the harder runner to assess: the latest Chukyo run was plain when last and beaten over 13 lengths, but the class relief is significant enough to keep him high in calculations. BIG BAND (2) is the reliable danger, having placed at his past two Kochi runs and boasting an excellent record with Seiya Tatara. LALA JACARANDA (5) improved into third last start and has a stronger career strike-rate than most here, but he still needs to bridge a margin on the top chances.

She was also runner-up to Royal Dance the start prior as an odds-on favourite, so the winning edge needs to return. Even so, one win and two places from three at this track and distance make her a major player fresh. |
