A SHIN YATAGARASU (8) sets the standard through his Kasamatsu 1400m profile, with five wins and one placing from seven attempts at the track and trip. His B2 win by a neck over King Of World as odds-on favourite was narrow rather than dominant, but it backed up a solid second to King Minister and his recent record is hard to fault. SMART TEMPEST (1) is the main threat after running second to With Philip over 1580m, beaten a length despite being unwanted in the market, and the return to a proven 1400m assignment is a clear positive. RYOMA (2) has been below market expectation at his past two, yet he keeps closing off and the Tatsuya Watanabe partnership is a major stabiliser. SATONO RUSH (6) arrives off a B5 win and had also run second at B6 level, so he is genuine enough, though he looks more a solid danger than the horse with the sharpest winning profile.
