No recognised leader engaged but Vivi Camellia possesses enough dash to take advantage of a low draw and take it up. VIVI CAMELLIA (2) appeals as the runner with the clearest winning platform after going under by only half a length to Light Beans at Mombetsu, despite being sent out at big odds. Her two placings from three starts, and two from two at 1100m, give her the most persuasive profile. MANA UILA (9) is the obvious threat: she was a beaten favourite when third to Light Beans, but had run second by a neck to Oryza Nova the start before and has placed three from three at this track and distance. LADY WARRIOR (5) also has a solid case after closing strongly for second to Alphonsina, beaten two lengths, and her three-start record suggests she is holding form well enough. RUBY GRASS (8) is next in line after making late ground for second to Davay Crystal, though the 1100m record remains a small query. The race looks centred on those four, with Vivi Camellia narrowly preferred over Mana Uila.
