KA NOA LADY (4) sets the standard on current form, having won here two starts back before finishing third behind Le Serment D'Amour, and her five-start Kanazawa record reads strongly enough to make her the runner to beat. CAIRNS (5) is the obvious danger off four straight wins at this track, including a latest success as a very short odds-on favourite, but the four-month break is the factor that stops him being a simple declaration. WINDSTILLE (9) brings a different profile, catching the eye late when fourth behind Tangent Arc after a flatter effort the run prior, so she is a genuine threat if she reproduces the latest. PIKAPIKA PIROKO (8) was costly as a short favourite last start, yet her overall record and proven jockey partnership keep her in the minor-money and upset mix.
