Keen tempo with Avoidance and Dug Another Hole prominent. ESSENTRIC NATURE (2) resumes with a very impressive trial under his belt behind G1 winner Watch Me Rock. He's a winner of 2/4 fresh and this looks to shape nicely for him. He's always hinted that he's above average and with a favourable scenario in this event, he can show what he's capable of. ANTIQUE STAR (7) just missed when favourite on resumption, beaten 1.1L at Pinjarra. She'll be fitter for that performance, though remaining at the 1400m is the query. She'll need some luck, but she's a classy customer and can't be discounted with improvement likely. PLATINUM SHOT (5) continues to race well, leading throughout over 1400m at Pinjarra to win by 1.1L. Tougher again here, though Parnham replaces the apprentice hoop and she has enough early speed to offset the tricky draw. Will take catching again. MISS SKYHIGH (4) can improve second-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Essentric Nature gets the nod in the last.
