Genuine tempo from Real Valentia leading Prince Kuro. HOOKED ON WEALTH (2) got too back when resuming but powered through the line to just miss, running some of the quickest splits of the meeting. If he produces the same closing speed here he’ll have them covered. GOLD SPIRIT (1) has been in a similar boat, leaving himself with too much to do in both runs back yet savaging the line late. He’s peaking now and a closer settling position puts him right in the finish. COPPER BULLET (10) loomed to win when resuming here last month but couldn’t put them away. He’s been kept fresh with 31 days between runs and should improve sharply with that hit-out under his belt. ROYAL TRAPEZE (11) finished sixth last start at Balaklava over 1300m but was beaten less than three lengths there. Sound effort and doubt things are much tougher here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hooked On Wealth to win.
