North Pole has good gate speed and can overcome the wide draw to lead.
NORTH POLE (1) is progressing nicely with two wins from his last three outings. Led for home then fended off a strong challenge to just prevail last start over 1820m at this track. Won't mind coming back to the mile. Gets in well after Franklin's claim so another win looks on the cards. KOKATAHI (2) comes north after winning his maiden 16 days ago over 1500m at Hawkesbury. Will need to go up a level now but he gets all the favours from gate one and with 2.5kgs less today he looks well treated. BE BOB ALOOLA (3) comes to town on the back of three wins in a row in central Queensland, all at or around this trip. Big step up today but with no weight and the confidence high he deserves some thought. LADY TANGALOOMA (11) started favourite and dominated an 1800m maiden here recently. Lightly raced filly who is likely to attract interest. CASTELLO GRANDE (4) wasn't far away first-up at Doomben and will be more effective out to this distance. SUGGESTED PLAY: North Pole to win again.
