Paint Me Red to take up the running with Noubentekh and Nicking Gracie close at hand. AUSSIE PHAROAH (4) is close to a win. Peaks off a solid third at Ararat over 1300m where he powered home from the back. May get it softer today and is well placed in this line-up to post his third win. FLEURIEU FLIPPER (8) found a place at Strathalbyn finding more like his best. Comes across the border and may go on with it now. BATTLECRUISER (10) did a good job beaten 1L at Ararat. Hasn't won for a long while but spiked his figures and will be fitter. Will likely settle back and come hard. NICKING GRACIE (9) flopped at Yarra Valley (vet cleared), but his near miss at Camperdown prior reads well enough. Maps well and is worth another chance. DODGY ELEMENT (1) is third-up with Meech engaged and we are likely to see more from him off SA provincials. SUGGESTED PLAY: Aussie Pharoah appeals most.
