A solid tempo anticipated with Paper Cowboy and Smackeroony ahead of On The Target and Herecomesantorini. EXCELBOOM (6) was expected to feature at Ipswich but didn't finish it off (vet cleared). Made good improvement at the Sunshine Coast prior and gets in well with the 2kg claim. In the premier metro stable and rates to be winning this contest. SMACKEROONY (7) can form the quinella if she backs up off her easy 55 win at Dalby 4 days ago. Will race forward from a handy gate and is sure to give a sight. MINOR KEY (3) has been around the mark and jumps from the paint. Tries hard and would have claims putting his best foot forward. ON THE TARGET (10) resumed for the new stable with a narrow defeat at Ipswich, where he led. He's improved and maps to advantage. Strips fitter and has to be considered. EAGLES BEWARE (4) finds easier with a 2kg claim and will be around the mark. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Excelboom.
