A keen contest with Kingswood and Pier leading from Doctor Askar. The Group 1 Bonecrusher Stakes is run over 2000m, and only a smallish field has been accepted. We think LEGARTO (7) can go back to back after she was beautifully ridden by Opie Bosson to score in the G1 Herbie Dyke Stakes at Te Rapa 4 weeks ago. She usually holds her form, and from a good gate, she is on top for us. PIER (3) was so game in defeat here 2 weeks ago over a mile when hitting the front a fair way from home. There is a query over 2000m about him, but he has to be given his chance. KINGSWOOD (1) was beaten fair and square by the top pick in the same race last time out, and once again has to give that runner 2kg in weight. He is as tough as old boots and won't let his connections down. WAITAK (2) only battled on late here last timeout, and may just need further than a mile now. Don't drop him yet. TUXEDO (6) is another who will be suited by stepping up to 2000m, and he is as good as any here on his day. JAARFFI (8) sat 3 wide and still beat most of these last start. Each way. SUGGESTED PLAY: Legarto is the one to beat again.
