From the inside gate Just Walter John has enough dash to lead, joined by Looks and Mean Feat pressing on from wider out. GALWAY SHAWL (4) jumped favourite in a stronger race last start at Pinjarra and will find this an easier race today. She's third-up here and still has plenty of scope for improvement. Likely to land in the second half of the field, but looks above average and she can return to winning ways. JUST WALTER JOHN (6) was able to find the lead last time out and couldn't be caught, running along at a good tempo and landing the knockout blow. The inside draw should see him up front once again for Watson and he'll take plenty of catching. DESERT LIFE (12) flew home to finish 0.9L off the winner over the 1000m journey at this track and rising to 1200m looks ideal today. Chris Parnham hops on board now from a good draw and she won't be far away. CHOUX SHOE (10) can put her best foot forward. SUGGESTED PLAY: Galway Shawl gets the nod.
