Belgrano has good gate speed and likely to set a genuine tempo with the advantage of the inside draw. WILLIE OR WONG HE (10) missed the maiden win by a whisker two back over 1550m at Canterbury then closed okay but lacked the turn of foot required in a 1500m midweek maiden at Rosehill last start. Might be looking for this trip now so back at the provincials he looks the testing material. BELGRANO (1) registered a ninth minor placing from 19 career runs when runner-up over the mile at Wyong last time out. Has a placing here at this trip to his credit. Looms as a serious threat. The lightly raced EUREKA REBEL (6) rallied late but missed by a neck over 1890m at Newcastle recently. Has more upside than his rivals and a maiden win is around the corner. AWESOME ARTIST (4) plugged away to a midfield finish at Newcastle last start when facing the starter for only the second time. Will enjoy getting to this trip and is a definite contender. SUGGESTED PLAY: Willie Or Wong He to break through.
