A strong pace on the cards with Khan Hunter, Just Charlie and Final Return likely to roll along early. The Auckland Cup over 2 miles has been a great race over the years, and this edition promises to be just as exciting, with the Australian raider BRAYDEN STAR (1) being the one to beat after his recent narrow defeat in the Avondale Cup here 2 weeks ago. He tries the trip for the first time, but should cope, and he can go one better. ROSSO (3) was so brave when finishing fourth in the Wellington Cup 5 weeks ago. He has come a long way in a short time this season, and if he has not trained off, he can have a say in the finish here as well. PARADISE STORM (13) will also be trekking across the ditch, and he has been building his fitness levels up in Melbourne. He is down in the weights, and he is worth including in all top 4 combos. JUST CHARLIE (11) set the pace and went huge for third in the Avondale Cup. He will once again put himself in the leading van early on, and there are not many tougher than him. FINAL RETURN (5) was an upset Avondale Cup winner, who has to be respected again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Just Charlie each way value.
