Lots of speed predominantly from Golden Copper, What A Rush and Toyger. ALTERCATION (4) settled worse than midfield then unleashed late only to miss by a whisker over 900m at Scone last start. That followed a narrow defeat at Class 3 level when resuming at Tamworth. Cherry ripe now, gets to a more suitable trip, and is drawn ideally. Hard to find fault. TOYGER (7) led all the way to win here first-up over 1000m then might have been looking for further when unplaced in a Class 3 over the same trip at Taree last time. Drops back a level today and gets conditions to suit. WHAT A RUSH (10) showed pace but ran out of condition when resuming over 1007m at Taree recently. Has raced here twice and won on both occasions. Looms as a genuine threat with the help of a nice barrier. EDGE OF MIDNIGHT (8) has been a model of consistency this time in work in shorter races than this. Went close last time over 900m at Scone. Big chance out to this trip. ROMMEL'S WOLF (15) was strong through the line first-up at Taree and the extra 100m is a tick. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Altercation in the last.
