Moderate tempo with Arianna's Gold leading the way. SNOW MAIDEN (11) closed off strongly last start beaten 1.3 lengths over 1150m on the Devonport Synthetic. She just missed three back here on debut and maps well. Peaks and will be tough to stop again. CARNOTAURUS (6) settled well back and found the line nicely beaten 2.25 lengths over this journey at Hobart. Is sure to have come on and keeps the handy 2kg claim. Will finish hard. LUCKY COUNTRY (13) debuts and his two recent trials have been sharp. Has an inside gate and Pires aboard and a bold run is on the cards. ARIANNA'S GOLD (5) resumes and placed in a recent trial at the track. She was only beaten 1.4L here two back on debut and will be naturally improved. Needs some luck from the awkward barrier. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Snow Maiden.
