Race 9 1200m Track: |

Genuine pace with Fuku Shiny taking up the running ahead of Satono Frey and Lightning Jab. IIDE HEROINE (5) gets the nod after a clear career-best at Mombetsu a fortnight ago, winning by two and a half lengths from Virtue at big odds after having run second to Tomoe the start prior. That gives her the sharper recent profile. SATONO FREY (9) is the obvious danger, having justified odds-on support here last start when beating Dujac by just under a length, and his Sapporo run two back was better than the placing suggests at under three lengths from Millennial Pink. FUKU SHINY (3) has the track-and-distance record to stay in calculations, though he was swamped late when fifth behind Craft King and must rebound from a poor run two starts ago. CHARPENTIER (2) is more a place-oriented selection after finishing sixth behind Satono Frey, but she is race fit and not hopeless if the principals underperform.

HIMALAYA VELOZ
MASAHIRO SAITO 4YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Daisaku Tsuji Returns from a lengthy spell after two Mizusawa runs that are hard to excuse. He was last in a 3yo+ B1 over 1600m behind Sun Entusiasta, never competitive and beaten out of sight, after starting near the top of an open market. The previous run as favourite was also poor, beaten over 14 lengths by Snow Patrol. Seven wins from 13 starts says he has ability, but he must reset sharply. |

CHARPENTIER
NOBORU YONEKAWA 4YO DK B FILLY 55.0KG Toshiaki Date Worked home only fairly when sixth at Mombetsu last start, beaten six and a half lengths by Satono Frey after starting at generous odds. Her previous eighth behind Ayasan Jolene was closer on paper, beaten three and a half lengths, but she was just fair through the line. Race fitness and a class drop give some support, yet the win record keeps her more in the minor-money bracket. |

FUKU SHINY
HIDEKI KAKUGAWA 3YO BAY COLT 57.0KG Improved sharply when fifth behind Craft King at Mombetsu last start, beaten just under two lengths after being swamped late. He can roll forward in his own rhythm and has two wins and two places from eight starts at this track and distance. The concern is his start prior in a 3yo COND, when unwanted in the market and beaten over 17 lengths by Best Green. Place chance if he holds form. |

LIGHTNING JAB
KUNIAKI SASAKI 3YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Ran third to Satono Frey at Mombetsu last start, beaten just over three lengths despite being unwanted in the market. She was close enough to do better and could not improve, so there was no obvious excuse, but it was still a lift on her 1000m eighth behind Kia Kia. Her record here reads as place-friendly rather than winning, and that is the most sensible way to assess her. |

IIDE HEROINE
MASAKAZU MURAKAMI 3YO BLACK FILLY 56.0KG Put the race away quickly at Mombetsu last start, beating Virtue by two and a half lengths despite starting at big odds. That followed a determined second to Tomoe, beaten a length and a half, so her form has built the right way. She is proven here over the 1200m and has one win and one place from two rides with Yuki Miyauchi. If that latest surge is repeated, she is a major player again. |

KYUTARO
HIROAKI SAKURAI 4YO CHESTNUT HORSE 57.0KG Back after two months off and comes in with work to do. He was fifth at Mombetsu last start, beaten just under six lengths by Clever Ben at long odds, after settling a long way back and finishing off without threatening. Two back he was beaten over 11 lengths over 1600m behind Keiai V Three. The return to 1200m may help, but he needs to settle closer and produce more. |

PIERRE TENNESSEE
H HIROMORI 5YO BAY MARE 55.0KG Kept to the task when sixth behind Ayasan Jolene at Mombetsu last start, beaten two and a half lengths after being respected in an open market. The run prior was better, a second to Queen's Merengue beaten a length and a half. Her track-and-distance record has plenty of placings, but just one win from 52 starts overall makes it difficult to promote her as a winning hope. |

SKI THUNDER
Fuyuki Igarashi 5YO BAY MARE 55.0KG Godolphin Returns from a lengthy spell after a plain Funabashi campaign. She was sixth in a 3yo+ C1 behind Piko Dial last start, beaten eight and a half lengths after having the right run and offering little. The previous sixth behind Deserve was better late, but still came at big odds and ended more than six lengths away. The class drop is noted, though recent form asks for a sizeable lift. |

SATONO FREY
JUNJI TANAKA 3YO DK B COLT 58.0KG Hajime Satomi Did what the market expected at Mombetsu last start, winning as odds-on favourite by just under a length from Dujac after looming and fighting on. The Sapporo run prior in a 3yo Maiden was sound enough, beaten just under three lengths by Millennial Pink as favourite. He has won his only start here, is proven at 1200m, and the Genta Ochiai-Junji Tanaka combination adds further confidence. |
