Race 5 1200m Track: SOFT |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Slick tempo with Gold Talisman to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. GOLD TALISMAN (8) brings the clearest winning form to this C2 over 1200m at Ohi, having scored here by two and a half lengths as favourite after a six-length 3yo+ C3 win at the same venue. That recent authority gives her the edge, though she still has to reproduce it against a deeper set of winning chances. SILVER MAC (4) is the main danger on profile: last start was plain over 1000m when beaten just over six lengths, but her prior win from Koigoromo and strong track-and-distance record keep her right in the race. BELLAGIO LE KUN (6) must rebound from an 11th over 1600m, yet the class drop and solid Ohi record make him a genuine threat. BRAVO KINGDOM (10) has been costly as favourite at his past two, but his closing work suggests he remains a knockout hope.

MINENO BLUE
Ryo Akamine 4YO DK B HORSE 56.0KG Returns from a lengthy spell after six months off, having finished eighth over 1400m here when beaten eight and a half lengths at big odds behind Twilight. The start prior was better, a third over 1600m, though still beaten six and a half lengths by Sky Is Yours in a small field. Dropping back to 1200m and returning to a track-and-trip where he has won are positives, but he needs to find sharper race-day pressure fresh. |

OSAKI THUNDER
SHIGERU ENDO 4YO CHESTNUT HORSE 56.0KG Recent form leaves him with plenty to turn around after consecutive ninths here, the latest behind Star Maiden when beaten six and a half lengths and unwanted in the market. Two back he was beaten over 11 lengths by Top Legend and never looked likely. He has placed at this track and distance, but the long winless record and lack of market confidence make this a demanding assignment. |

JASMINE
YASUMASA KURITA 4YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG Masatake Iida Finished seventh here behind Star Maiden last start, beaten five and a half lengths after settling rearward, which was a backward step from her previous third at the same venue. That placing still came with a margin of just under six lengths, so the bare result flatters the run a little. She has placed three times from seven at this track and distance, but needs a stronger finish to trouble the main chances. |

SILVER MAC
KAZUNOBU SUDA 4YO GREY FILLY 53.0KG Disappointed when seventh over 1000m here last start, beaten just over six lengths after being close enough at the turn and failing to quicken. The better reference is her prior win, when she beat Koigoromo by a length and a half as favourite. Her three wins and one place from seven at this track and distance, plus the strong record with Haruto Nakayama, make her a serious rebound chance. |

RIKO STEYR
YUTA EBINA 6YO BAY MARE 54.0KG Returns from a four-month break after winning here by a neck from Jasmine, having knuckled down strongly when the race was there to be won. The run prior was a fair fifth behind Xcaret, beaten three and a half lengths after giving away a start. She is proven at this track and distance and has won with Masashige Honda aboard, but her overall 1200m record here says she is more a place chance than a standout fresh. |

BELLAGIO LE KUN
MASAHIRO FUKUDA 4YO CHESTNUT HORSE 56.0KG Shorai Hayashida Second-up with a class drop to help after finishing 11th over 1600m here, beaten nine and a half lengths by M T King despite being near the top of an open market. His previous run was also plain over 1400m, but he owns one win and one place from four starts at Ohi and Takayuki Yano is a clear booking positive. The drop to 1200m is the query, yet he has enough upside to rebound sharply. |

LUCKENBOOTH
NOBUHIRO ONODERA 4YO DK B FILLY 51.0KG Has been safely held at her past two, finishing second last over 1000m here behind Peisha Kelly after being close enough at the turn, then second last again when beaten over 15 lengths by Top Legend. The 51kg is some relief and she has won at this track and distance, but recent efforts at big odds have offered little encouragement. She needs a major form reversal. |

GOLD TALISMAN
HIROYUKI INOUE 5YO BAY MARE 54.0KG Kosho Bokujo Arrives in winning form after scoring here by two and a half lengths as favourite, letting down with plenty in hand to beat Ryuno World. That followed a dominant six-length 3yo+ C3 win from Kotobuki Ace, again as favourite, so the recent pattern is strong and sustained. She has enough early speed to use her racing style positively, and two track-and-distance wins give her the best current profile. |

CHASE THE FIRE
KAZUO WATANABE 4YO BROWN GELDING 56.0KG Led and worked home evenly when sixth behind Star Maiden here last start, beaten four and a half lengths. The better run was his second two back, when unwanted in the market yet beaten just under two lengths by S K Eagle. He can race handy and is a track-and-trip winner, but one win from 23 at this course and distance highlights why he profiles as a place chance rather than a key winning hope. |

BRAVO KINGDOM
TERUNOBU FUJITA 5YO CHESTNUT GELDING 56.0KG Ace Racing Picked up nicely in the straight when fifth behind Star Maiden last start, though he was beaten four and a half lengths as favourite. He had also been a well-supported favourite two back when fourth and beaten just over six lengths, so the market has expected more than he has delivered. The Yoichi Ando record is useful and his recent-season profile is sound, but he must turn closing merit into a fuller performance. |

TOSANO OUMASAN
YASUMASA KURITA 4YO BAY FILLY 51.0KG Produced a better effort when fourth behind Star Maiden here last start, beaten four lengths at big odds after coming from well back. Her previous seventh was less convincing, beaten eight lengths by S K Eagle after again giving away ground. The low weight is no negative and she has placed often enough overall, but with only one win from 29 starts she still has to prove she can convert that effort into a threat. |

SISTERON
YOSHIHIRO SAWA 4YO CHESTNUT FILLY 54.0KG Shadai Race Horse Co. Ltd. Form is difficult to support after finishing second last behind Star Maiden here, beaten over 11 lengths after conceding a huge start. Two back she was 11th over 1400m behind West Leader and beaten over 14 lengths, also at long odds. She remains winless from 19 starts and is unplaced in five attempts at this track and distance, so others bring far stronger claims. |
