MEISHO HACHIMAKI (5) is the horse to beat despite proving costly as a short odds-on favourite when fourth at Sonoda last start, beaten just over two lengths. His prior 3yo AB run over 1870m was plain on the margin, but he is proven at both this track and the distance and brings the best overall profile among the main hopes. YAMANIN COLZA (8) is the danger: her latest seventh at Chukyo Dirt was only fair, yet her previous fourth there, beaten just under two lengths, reads well enough for this class drop. REGALINO (1) has been safely held at Niigata and Hakodate, but the easier setup gives her a place pathway. MACHO SASUPO (3) arrives off a decisive Sonoda win and must be respected, though the ten-year-old mare is more a solid danger than the top pick.
