Race 4 1400m Track: SOFT |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Strong tempo assured from Scintillio and Tiger Shark leading the charge. TIGER SHARK (6) sets the standard after winning both runs this campaign at Ohi, first scoring over 1200m in 3yo+ C3 grade and then justifying odds-on favouritism when beating Silfra by a head. The margin was narrow, but the winning habit and track record give him the strongest profile. LAST EIGHT CLUB (13) is the immediate threat, having resumed with a half-length second to Maple Peer and bringing a sharp overall record at Ohi. VIP CLARA (2) was big odds when fourth in 3yo+ C1C2 company here and has a proven track-and-trip record, so she looks a genuine danger with that run under her belt. DREADNOUGHT (3) improved sharply to be beaten just under two lengths last start and has won twice at this track and distance, though the winless recent-season profile keeps him just behind the main trio.

MAGIC TYPE
TAKASHI KUBOSUGI 4YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Settled rearward when eighth over 1600m at Ohi last start, beaten just over seven lengths by M T King after starting at long odds. His previous fifth behind Maple Peer had more merit, though he again conceded a big start and was always chasing. The class drop is some help, but he remains winless from 24 starts and needs a far sharper finish back at 1400m. |

VIP CLARA
TOMOHIRO ARAI 4YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG Kunihide Suzuki Resumed with a sound fourth in a 3yo+ C1C2 over 1400m at Ohi, beaten four lengths by Drain The Swamp despite being sent out big odds. That was a better run than her sixth behind T's Link before the break, and she is already a winner at this track and distance. Ryo Novata has won twice on her, so second-up she profiles as a strong winning chance in this grade. |

DREADNOUGHT
TAKEMI MUNAKATA 4YO GREY HORSE 53.0KG Improved sharply when fifth at Ohi last start, beaten just under two lengths by Wing Wind after being allowed to go around at long odds. That was a clear step up on his ninth behind West Leader, when he was never likely after settling with too much to do. Two wins from five at this track and distance keep him in the mix, but he shapes more as a place hope than a dominant winning play. |

YAMANO RICH
YOICHI SASAKI 6YO BAY MARE 54.0KG Was never a factor when 11th over 1200m at Ohi last start, beaten just over eight lengths by Star Maiden after starting big odds. The run prior was even plainer, finishing well held behind Nansei Scorpion. She rises in trip with only one win from 71 starts and no win from 17 at this track and distance, so others bring stronger recent credentials. |
4 TAKAMI RIKU |

SILHOUETTE RIDE
YUTA EBINA 4YO DK B HORSE 56.0KG Dropped out to finish last over 1600m at Ohi first-up, beaten a long way by M T King after starting big odds. His previous ninth behind Quads was also plain, with little offered once the pressure came on. He is still winless from 18 starts and the back in trip to 1400m has to spark a major turnaround before he becomes competitive. |
5 NIIHARA SHUMA |
|
| 6 | 05x11 |
TIGER SHARK
Hidemitsu Sakai 4YO CHESTNUT HORSE 56.0KG Comes in with two straight wins at Ohi, most recently beating Silfra by a head as odds-on favourite after working home over the top. He had earlier won a 3yo+ C3 over 1200m by two and a half lengths from Nichirin, again as favourite. Three wins from six overall and three from six at this track read strongly, and he is the one they all have to reach. |

GENIE KIC
RYUICHI YOSHII 4YO BAY GELDING 56.0KG Was there to challenge over 1600m at Ohi last start but found little and finished tenth, beaten just under eight lengths by M T King. Two back he led and held fourth behind Bee Trinity, which reads better, yet he has been unplaced in all nine starts this season. The class drop and return to 1400m offer some hope, but recent output leaves him with plenty to prove. |
7 YAMATO ISHIKAWA |
|
| 8 | 1332x |
SCINTILLIO
KEIYUKI SUZUKI 6YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Returns from a lengthy spell after going close over 1600m at Ohi, where he fought hard and was beaten a neck by Grandite. He had also finished third behind Vulture Star, beaten just over two lengths, so his last campaign had plenty of consistency. The 1400m back in trip is the query, but his record this season points to a genuine minor-money chance fresh. |
8 SHO YOSHII |

NAC JASPER
SHIN TACHIBANA 6YO DK B MARE 54.0KG Picked up nicely late when fifth in a 3yo+ C1C2 at Ohi last start, beaten just over four lengths by Drain The Swamp at big odds. That was an improvement on her eighth behind Bee Trinity, where she did not quicken over 1600m. She was beaten by Vip Clara recently and is unplaced in five at this track and distance, leaving her needing another step forward. |
9 SHOHEI TAKAHASHI |

MY FAIR LADY
TAKAKAZU SASO 4YO BAY FILLY 53.0KG Was safely held over 1200m at Ohi last start, finishing eighth and beaten just under six lengths by Star Maiden after starting big odds. Her previous sixth behind Maple Peer was also below the required level, as she was close enough before fading in the run home. A prior track-and-trip win is noted, but current form says she must improve sharply. |
10 HARUTO NAKAYAMA |
|
| 11 | 35654 |
EXOTIC GIRL
HIROMITSU KURITA 4YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG Thoroughbred Club Ruffian Co. Ltd. Closed off better when fourth over 1600m at Ohi last start, beaten three and a half lengths by M T King after starting at long odds. That was a stronger effort than her fifth behind Nansei Scorpion, where she was beaten over 12 lengths and did not quicken. She is still winless from 19 starts, but two placings from four at this track and distance give her a place profile. |
11 MASASHIGE HONDA |
|
| 12 | 22243 |
GORDIAN KNOT
HIROSHI TAKAMI 5YO DK B GELDING 56.0KG Carrot Farm Co. Ltd. Worked home late for third over 1600m at Ohi last start, beaten just under three lengths by M T King at generous odds. He had been favourite when fourth behind Maple Peer the run prior, so his recent form is honest without converting. He will likely need luck from a rearward position, and the 42-start maiden record keeps him in the place-only category. |

LAST EIGHT CLUB
YORIAKI MURAKAMI 4YO BAY HORSE 56.0KG Returns from a five-week let-up after a strong first-up second at Ohi, beaten half a length by Maple Peer when pipped at the post. That was a complete turnaround from his 11th behind Shonan Tahti over 1600m last December. With two wins and one place from five starts overall, all at this track, he has the upside to test the favourite if he repeats that fresh run. |
