Race 10 1200m Track: SOFT |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
|
Samani Denka and Porta Romana to take up the running at a strong tempo. ORANGE MAN (3) brings the most reliable local form into this 1200m contest, having gone under by only half a length to Revuelto Dio in a 3yo COND at Ohi after a sound fourth behind Magic Elegance the run prior. His track-and-distance record gives that form extra substance. MOONLIT RAIN (2) is harder to line up after finishing last at Sapporo, but the class drop and the booking of Takayuki Yano give him a genuine platform to improve sharply. TUM TUM TUM (10) resumes off plain maiden efforts at Hakodate and Tokyo Dirt, yet is assessed as a live improver back in this grade if the freshen-up has helped. SYLPHY (13) is the class-related danger, coming out of a 3yo+ allow at Niigata where he was beaten only four lengths after finishing on. The wide draw and winless profile are the cautions, but his ratings keep him right in the argument.

HAPPY CHANCE
KAZUYA MAKITA 3YO CHESTNUT FILLY 54.0KG Katsutoshi Miyake Returns from a two-month break after a plain ninth in a 3yo Maiden over 1400m at Chukyo Dirt, beaten over 16 lengths after settling prominently and weakening late. Her debut eighth at Hanshin Dirt was better without being threatening, and she has been big odds both times. Dropping back in trip is another question, so she must lift sharply to trouble these. |

MOONLIT RAIN
KEIZO ITO 3YO BAY COLT 56.0KG Godolphin Returns from a two-month break after finishing last in a 3yo Maiden at Sapporo, beaten just under seven lengths when never in the picture and unwanted in the market. His previous Nakayama run was also safely held, but the class drop and Takayuki Yano taking the ride at Ohi are meaningful positives. The 1200m still has to be answered, though the set-up gives him scope to rebound. |

ORANGE MAN
KENJI SANO 3YO DK B COLT 56.0KG Went within half a length of Revuelto Dio in a 3yo COND here last start, being pipped at the post after starting near the top of an open market. That followed a solid fourth behind Magic Elegance at Ohi, where he made ground from well back. Proven at this track and distance and racing consistently, he brings the strongest local platform and looks ready to convert. |

LOVINGLY
MASAKAZU IKEGAMI 3YO BAY FILLY 54.0KG G1 Racing Co. Ltd. Returns from a two-month break after finishing eighth in a 3yo Maiden at Niigata Dirt, beaten nine and a half lengths after being set a task from back in the field. She had earlier finished last at Tokyo Dirt over 1600m, beaten a long way, and the market has shown little interest. The class drop is noted, but her recent form leaves her with plenty to find. |

COBRA TWIST
NORIO WATANABE 3YO BAY COLT 56.0KG Satoko Egawa Has a useful Ohi 1200m record, with one win and two places from four attempts, but the latest evidence is a concern. He was sixth here over 1400m last start, beaten nine and a half lengths at big odds, after an eighth behind Magic Elegance when near the top of betting. The return to his winning trip helps, yet he needs to recapture earlier form quickly. |

DARE TO KNOW
TOSHIAKI TAJIMA 3YO CHESTNUT FILLY 54.0KG Makio Okada Returns from a two-month break after a disappointing tenth in a 3yo Maiden over 1800m at Niigata Dirt, beaten over 11 lengths when she tracked the speed and failed to quicken. Her previous fifth at Mombetsu was more even than damaging, and she remains unplaced in four runs at this distance. Third-up and down in class can help, but she profiles as a place chance rather than a clear win threat. |

LIEN RIVA
HIDEYO YONEDA 3YO DK B COLT 56.0KG Finished fifth to Revuelto Dio at Ohi last start, beaten four and a half lengths, after another fifth here behind Magic Elegance when sent out at big odds. He is a track-and-distance winner and should be fitter third-up, but he has already come up short against Orange Man in recent local form. Honest enough to press for minor money, though he must find a stronger closing edge. |

P M KINCHAN
SHOICHIRO WADA 3YO DK B COLT 54.0KG Tsuyoshi Matsuyama Returns from a five-month break after a heavy defeat in a 3yo Maiden at Tokyo Dirt, finishing tenth and beaten over 16 lengths at long odds. His Kasamatsu third two starts back was sounder, though still beaten just over four lengths after trying hard. Weight relief and the returning rider help a little, but his unplaced 1200m record makes this a testing first-up assignment. |

SAMANI DENKA
KIYOAKI TAKAHASHI 3YO CHESTNUT COLT 56.0KG Showed more when fifth to Riko Blue Eye at Ohi last start, beaten just over four lengths after leading as an outside chance in the betting. That was a clear step forward from his 14th behind Magic Elegance, where he was beaten over 12 lengths at big odds. A previous local win gives him some grounding, and if he sustains that latest effort he is capable of running into the placings. |

TUM TUM TUM
FUMINMASA TAKAHASHI 3YO DK B COLT 56.0KG Takuji Sakuma Returns from a three-month break with a class drop to work with, despite recent figures that read plainly. He was 12th in a 3yo Maiden at Hakodate last start, beaten eight lengths at long odds, after finding little over 1400m at Tokyo Dirt. There is no clear excuse in those runs, but this looks a more suitable assignment on assessment and he can improve if the break has reset him. |

UNION JACK
MASAHIRO TAKEUCHI 3YO BROWN COLT 56.0KG Hiroshi Shimokobe Returns from a five-week let-up after finishing 13th in a 3yo Maiden at Niigata Dirt, beaten over 16 lengths when settling rearward and never threatening. His debut at Fukushima Dirt was also well held, beaten nine lengths at big odds. Race fitness and a lower-grade set-up are the only real positives, and he needs to show a lot more under pressure. |

PORTA ROMANA
TSUYOSHI TAKANO 3YO CHESTNUT FILLY 54.0KG Led and was run down late when sixth to Revuelto Dio at Ohi last start, beaten five and a half lengths at big odds. The stronger reference is her prior win here in a 3yo COND, where she beat Implied Odds by half a length after controlling the race and fighting on. Proven at the track and distance, she has enough local credentials to be a genuine place contender. |

SYLPHY
ISSEI MURATA 3YO GREY COLT 56.0KG Issei Shimada Returns from a two-month break after finishing 11th in a 3yo+ ALLOW at Niigata, beaten four lengths after settling well back and closing off without threatening. He had been seventh over 1600m six days earlier, beaten two and a half lengths after picking up nicely. The form is not winning form on paper, but the class drop, fourth-up profile and strong ratings make him a major player if he converts that finish. |

TUNA WISH
TSUYOSHI TAKANO 3YO DK B COLT 56.0KG Was tenth to Revuelto Dio at Ohi last start, beaten over 10 lengths after getting a long way back and making no impression. His previous local run over 1600m was similar, finishing ninth and beaten over 11 lengths when unwanted in the market. He has won here before, but his track-and-distance record is poor and recent efforts make others look safer. |
