Race 11 1400m Track: |

Sunrise Skaal can slide across and take up the running in a race devoid of early pace. DONDENGAESHI (1) earns top billing after two sound Sonoda runs in 3yo+ B2 company, most recently third to Buchi A when beaten just over a length after looming and fighting on. He was near the top of betting there, is third-up, and his narrow defeat behind Sunrise Skaal last month is the main reminder that this is not a one-horse race. SUNRISE SKAAL (11) has the strongest recent consistency, beaten just over half a length by Valar last start after a close third to Kawakita Hoku Lea, and he has already had Dondengaeshi's measure. TAMBA BUSHO (6) improved into third behind Smile Clark, beaten two lengths, and his Sonoda 1400m record keeps him right in the argument. GLORIOUS APOI (12) has been plain in two runs back but owns a strong track-and-distance record and can improve third-up.

DONDENGAESHI
RYOHEI HORI 6YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Iwakirikikaku Co. Ltd. Went close in a 3yo+ B2 at Sonoda last start, finishing third to Buchi A and beaten just over a length after looming and fighting on. That built on a fifth to Kawakita Hoku Lea, beaten a length and a half at long odds, so the recent form reads well. He has placed twice from five at this track and distance and, from barrier one, can conserve ground around midfield. The distance query remains, but third-up he sets a solid standard. |

ZENDAN SUBASHIRI
TETSUHARU KURIBAYASHI 4YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Zen Racing Finished fifth to Marble Halo at Sonoda last start, but the beaten margin of over 14 lengths is hard to ignore despite making some late ground. His previous run was also well below the mark when second last to As You Like, again beaten over 14 lengths at long odds. A past track-and-trip win and the class drop are positives, yet his current form leaves him with a substantial turnaround to produce. |

ZAGORI
MIZOHASHI RIKIO 4YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Filled third behind Marble Halo at Sonoda last start, but was beaten seven and a half lengths and the market gave little confidence at big odds. The run prior was similar in substance, sixth to Fuseno Aurora and beaten seven lengths after offering little late. She did finish ahead of Tamba Busho three weeks ago, though that looks more a minor reference point than a winning edge. Improvement is required. |

BELLAGIO FOCUS
KAZUYA SAKAMOTO 3YO BAY COLT 56.0KG Returns from a six-week freshening after finishing last to Oabare in a 3yo COND at Sonoda, beaten a long way when his final effort was poor. The run before was more respectable, fourth to As You Like in 3yo+ B2 grade, beaten just over three lengths at long odds. His one win and three places from nine starts at this track and distance give him a base for improvement, but he must rebound strongly. |

S O RISING
MIZOHASHI RIKIO 5YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Syoichi Okamoto Was never a market factor when sixth to Buchi A at Sonoda last start, beaten just over five lengths after racing handy enough but failing to finish off. His previous run was weaker again, tenth to Fuseno Aurora and beaten over 16 lengths after settling rearward. The long-term record is also thin, with one win from 48 starts and no placing from 15 at this track and distance. Others are far more persuasive. |

TAMBA BUSHO
KAZUYA SAKAMOTO 4YO BAY HORSE 57.0KG Improved at Sonoda last start when third to Smile Clark in a 3yo+ B2, beaten two lengths after working home evenly. That was a clear step up from his seventh to Fuseno Aurora, where he was beaten just over eight lengths and made little impact late. His three wins and seven places from 19 starts at this track and distance are a strong anchor, and he has enough substance to press the main chances. |

GOOD HABITS
HIROYUKI TSUCHIYA 6YO DK B MARE 55.0KG Thoroughbred Club Ruffian Co. Ltd. Returns from a four-month break with a strong Sonoda 1400m profile, boasting nine wins and eight places from 25 starts at the track and distance. She was third to A Shin Animo in 4yo+ B1 grade before the spell, beaten two and a half lengths, after going under by a head to Bons Duqqa. The fresh run is the natural query, but her proven record makes her a genuine minor-money hope. |

BISCUIT
MORIYUKI NISHIMURA 6YO DK B MARE 55.0KG Wada Farm Co. Ltd. Dropped out sharply at Sonoda last start when second last to Smile Clark, tailed off at long odds after being in the right position. The start prior at Niigata over 1000m was also plain, finishing last behind Meteoroid and beaten over 11 lengths. She is third-up, but the current form is poor and her unplaced record at this distance adds another genuine concern. A major form reversal is needed. |

DURA LUNA
NAOYUKI MIYAKE 4YO BAY FILLY 55.0KG Insel Racing Co. Ltd. Was tailed off at Sonoda last start when ninth to Smile Clark, giving away a big start and never getting into the contest. Before that, she was seventh to Token Kumi at Kochi in 3yo+ C3 grade, beaten just over eight lengths despite holding her effort to the line. A prior distance win is the one small positive, but she has been out of form and must find considerably more to be competitive. |

QUICK QUEEN
AKIHIRO TAMURA 5YO CHESTNUT MARE 55.0KG North Hills Co. Ltd. Ran a sound fourth behind Smile Clark at Sonoda last start, beaten just under three lengths at generous odds after settling rearward. Her previous fifth to Valar was also competitive enough, beaten two and a half lengths as an outside chance in betting. With four wins and nine places from 30 starts at this track and distance, she has the right grounding, though she still needs a sharper winning blow. |

SUNRISE SKAAL
MITSUAKI TAMAGAKI 7YO GREY HORSE 57.0KG Takao Matsuoka Missed narrowly at Sonoda last start when fourth to Valar, beaten just over half a length in a 3yo+ B2 after having his chance. He had earlier finished third to Kawakita Hoku Lea, beaten just under a length at big odds, and that run included a head-to-head edge over Dondengaeshi. His one win and six places from 17 at this track and distance show reliability, and he rates as a serious winning threat. |

GLORIOUS APOI
MASAMICHI KASHIHARA 7YO BAY MARE 55.0KG Yoko Takano Finished seventh to Buchi A at Sonoda last start, beaten five and a half lengths after giving herself too much to do and never threatening. Her previous eighth to Danon Oneup was closer, beaten three and a half lengths at long odds, but she has not yet fired this campaign. The counter is a strong Sonoda 1400m record of five wins and eight places from 22 starts, so third-up she can improve into the placings. |
