GOING:

Race 6 1400m

Track:

In the absence of noted leaders, Marble Tiswa and Pellestrina may be the ones to set a moderate tempo. MARBLE TISWA (7) is the one to beat despite coming off a beaten-favourite fourth here, as her overall 1400m Sonoda record remains the strongest profile in the race and her prior second to Infini Wraith was only by a neck. ARATAMA OSO (2) is the obvious danger after improving sharply to run second to Mysterious Lady, beaten a length and a half at big odds, and a repeat of that effort puts him right in the contest. PELLESTRINA (9) has the class-drop and track-and-trip credentials to rebound, though she must put two heavy defeats behind her. SUPERBE LIEN (8) lacks a win from nine starts but has been closer than many of these of late and profiles as a genuine place threat.

Finished second last in a 3yo+ C2 here last start, beaten over 15 lengths by Macho Sasupo after giving away a big start and never getting into the race. His previous run was no stronger, also second last and beaten over 19 lengths by Ras Al Khaimah at big odds. The class drop and winning rider returning are positives, but recent form leaves him with plenty to find.

Lifted sharply here last start when second in a 3yo+ C3, beaten a length and a half by Mysterious Lady at big odds after letting down nicely. That was a clear improvement on his fifth to Noble Festa, where he was beaten over 14 lengths and could not close off. Proven at this track and distance, with Wataru Hirose riding, he has strong claims if he repeats the latest effort.

Was ninth here in a 3yo+ COND last start, beaten over 16 lengths by Ecoro Bolt after settling rearward and weakening through the line. The run prior over 1870m was better without being threatening, finishing seventh and beaten just over eight lengths. His track-and-distance record gives some hope, but current form says he must lift sharply.

Dropped out to finish last over 1230m here last start, beaten over 18 lengths by Mononofu Yellow after conceding a huge start. He had also been well held when eighth behind Piko Land, beaten over 11 lengths on good ground. Returning to 1400m and his strong track-and-distance record help, but the recent defeats are too plain to ignore.

Returns from a five-week freshening after finishing ninth over 1870m here, beaten over 17 lengths by Aspiracion at long odds. She had also finished last over 820m, so the recent form is poor, but coming back to 1400m is more suitable on her record: one win and two places from four starts at this track and distance. She can improve enough to chase minor money.

Was fifth in a 3yo+ C2 here last start, but the margin was still over 13 lengths behind Resplendor and she was unwanted in the market. Two back she was beaten out of sight by A Shin Diva after fading late. Her five wins and six places from 48 starts at this track and distance are worth noting, yet her current form makes her hard to recommend strongly.

3YO  CHESTNUT  FILLY 55.0KG

Returns from a five-week freshening after a fair fourth here as favourite, beaten five and a half lengths by Gaspard. That was below market expectation, but her start prior was a strong second to Infini Wraith, beaten only a neck after finishing strongly. With one win and two places from four starts at this track and distance, she still sets a solid standard if she bounces back.

Worked to the line only fairly when sixth here last start in a 3yo+ C2, beaten five and a half lengths by Ecoro Athena at generous odds. The previous seventh was similar, although she did make some late ground after settling well back. Still a maiden from nine starts, but this looks a softer setup and she has enough recent substance to be a place player.

Finished well held over 1700m here last start behind Wonder Guarneri after leading, and the prior seventh to Harienju was also plain when beaten over 12 lengths. The case for her is the return to 1400m, where she has three wins and one place from 17 starts at this track and distance. She is capable of a sharp rebound, but recent form carries a real warning.

Has been safely held in both recent 3yo+ C2 runs over longer trips, finishing eighth behind Wonder Guarneri last start and beaten over 16 lengths. The start prior was much the same behind Aspiracion, with little improvement after settling a long way back. She did finish ahead of Pellestrina recently and has placed seven times with Teppei Kotani, so minor money is the realistic target.
