In the absence of noted leaders, Marble Tiswa and Pellestrina may be the ones to set a moderate tempo. MARBLE TISWA (7) is the one to beat despite coming off a beaten-favourite fourth here, as her overall 1400m Sonoda record remains the strongest profile in the race and her prior second to Infini Wraith was only by a neck. ARATAMA OSO (2) is the obvious danger after improving sharply to run second to Mysterious Lady, beaten a length and a half at big odds, and a repeat of that effort puts him right in the contest. PELLESTRINA (9) has the class-drop and track-and-trip credentials to rebound, though she must put two heavy defeats behind her. SUPERBE LIEN (8) lacks a win from nine starts but has been closer than many of these of late and profiles as a genuine place threat.

The class drop and winning rider returning are positives, but recent form leaves him with plenty to find. |

That was a clear improvement on his fifth to Noble Festa, where he was beaten over 14 lengths and could not close off. Proven at this track and distance, with Wataru Hirose riding, he has strong claims if he repeats the latest effort. |

His track-and-distance record gives some hope, but current form says he must lift sharply. |

Returning to 1400m and his strong track-and-distance record help, but the recent defeats are too plain to ignore. |

She can improve enough to chase minor money. |

Her five wins and six places from 48 starts at this track and distance are worth noting, yet her current form makes her hard to recommend strongly. |

With one win and two places from four starts at this track and distance, she still sets a solid standard if she bounces back. |

The case for her is the return to 1400m, where she has three wins and one place from 17 starts at this track and distance. She is capable of a sharp rebound, but recent form carries a real warning. |

The start prior was much the same behind Aspiracion, with little improvement after settling a long way back. She did finish ahead of Pellestrina recently and has placed seven times with Teppei Kotani, so minor money is the realistic target. |
