NAGOYA   16 Sep 2026

GOING:

Race 4 1500m

Track:

Reasonable tempo with Nikita probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. VELOCIA (2) sets the standard on consistency, having been second at Nagoya at his past two runs and beaten only half a length last time after closing off well. His track-and-distance record is the cleanest profile among the main hopes, though he does need to turn those near misses into a win after being strongly fancied. PEPTIDE PLATA (3) has the right form depth, winning a 3yo+ COND here two back before placing again, but the seven-length margin last start leaves a small query against the top pick. LILII BOREA (9) comes off the sharpest last-start result, beating June Smash by three lengths, and stays on 52kg, making her the main danger. GO GO MANGO (6) also arrives off a Nagoya win and deserves respect.

Finished last at Kawasaki over 900m last start, beaten over 12 lengths after settling well back and making no impression late. Her previous run was better, fifth at the same venue when beaten three lengths, but she was unwanted in the market on both occasions. The class drop and rise in trip offer some context, yet the recent evidence says she must improve sharply.

Went close again at Nagoya last start, finishing second and beaten half a length after letting down nicely from off the pace. That followed another narrow second here when beaten a head as a prohibitive odds-on favourite, so the consistency is strong even if he has been costly. One win and two places from three starts at this track and distance gives him the right platform to go one better.

Worked home into second at Nagoya last start, though the seven-length margin behind Vip Joie leaves her with ground to make up. The stronger pointer is the run prior, when she won a 3yo+ COND here by just under a length from Ardent Eye after finishing over the top of them. Her track-and-distance record is solid, and she remains a genuine winning chance if she reproduces that peak.

Was second last at Nagoya when resuming, never competitive and beaten out of sight after settling rearward and weakening further. Her previous run at Niigata in a 3yo Maiden was also plain, second last and beaten over 12 lengths at long odds. With no win from seven starts and little recent pressure shown, she needs a major turnaround second-up.

Has been safely held in two recent Nagoya runs, finishing sixth last start when beaten over 15 lengths after giving away a big start and never getting into the race. He had been second last here the run before, beaten over 16 lengths and unwanted in the market. One win from three with Teruhiro Asano is a small plus, but he needs plenty to fall his way.

Returned to winning form at Nagoya last start, beating Greater Grey by a length and a half as favourite after tracking the speed. That was a clear lift from her previous fourth behind Aulani, when she had the drop on the leaders but could not go on and was beaten eight and a half lengths. With two wins and one place from seven starts, she has enough current form to hold a place in the key chances.

Finished seventh at Nagoya last start, beaten over 17 lengths at big odds after giving away a start and never entering the picture. The run prior was only fair, sixth behind Zenno Zondag and beaten over 10 lengths. His one win from five starts at this track and distance is worth noting, but recent form is too poor to recommend strongly.

Placed behind Go Go Mango at Nagoya last start, finishing third and beaten just over two lengths after being safely held. She had also run third behind Aulani two back, leading before being claimed and battling on. Her on-pace pattern gives her a chance to hold a spot, and one win and two places from four rides with Junki Mochizuki supports another honest showing.

Won well at Nagoya last start, beating June Smash by three lengths after extending clearly when near the front late. She had been third here the run prior, beaten just over two lengths behind Copano Carter, and has now built a reliable track-and-distance profile with one win and three places from four attempts. The wide barrier is the obvious task, but her current form is hard to fault.

Finished fourth over 920m at Nagoya last start, beaten just over five lengths after settling prominently and picking up well. His previous fourth here over this range was similar, beaten five lengths after working home evenly. He is one from one at this distance, which makes the return to 1500m appealing, but he still needs a sharper winning punch.

Was second last at Nagoya last start, beaten just over eight lengths after having the job ahead and failing to make ground. The prior sixth behind Bella Centaurus was more competitive, beaten five and a half lengths, but he remains winless from 13 starts. Four placings from nine attempts at this track and distance keep him in minor calculations only.
