Hot tempo expected from Macanese Master and Iconical. ALWAYS MY FOLKS (2) has solid enough form to win this and gets Purton back aboard, while a recent trial suggests he has returned in good order. A wide gate is the concern, but he has enough ability to overcome it and looks a serious winning chance. JOLLY COMPANION (4) has been safely held at his last couple, but this looks a much more suitable assignment and he can bounce back sharply. RUNJEET (9) did plenty of work from a wide draw first-up, leading for a long way before fading into fourth. A good draw is a big advantage and with that run under his belt, he looks a strong top-4 prospect. SPICY SPANGLE (11) has a good draw, and his on-speed racing style should make full use of it. A solid trial against stronger opposition adds confidence and he appeals as the value each-way play. MACANESE MASTER (7) has the benefit of a recent run and the drop back to 1200m looks ideal. He can improve enough to feature in the finish.
