Small field but Beast Mode, South Of India and Chinqui can ensure a genuine tempo. Love the set-up for BEAST MODE (1) coming back to 1000m off a freshen. He's been a revelation since the blinkers have gone on, winning two races at Moonee Valley in fast time before a valiant effort out to 1100m in the Listed Village Stakes last time, only fading very late for third in good company. He should go straight to the front here on good ground and prove very hard to catch. SAMANGU (2) resumes and has plenty of ability. She's won 5/7 to date, winning a handy race before a spell at Caulfield. She doesn't lack for early pace and can sit close enough to strike late. SOUTH OF INDIA (3) got in light and proved too good at Ballarat last time. Up a fair bit in weight now but he's going well for the new yard and has claims. SUNRISE (5) tried hard in The Warra last time at Kembla Grange and has each-way claims. CODIGO (7) next best back to 1000m. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Beast Mode.
