Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. COSTALOTTA (8) was safely held at the last run before a break but was close to a maiden success and has run well fresh. Drawn for a good run and expected to go close. UNA GENTLE (12) was solid fresh then eased down in the straight latest, the jockey worried about its action. Has ability and definitely worth another try. KILCARN (10) was heavily backed on debut at Warrnambool and was fair but will be much improved. Freshened since and back to 1200m should see sharp improvement. CAROLINA ROSE (7) is a three-year-old filly by leading sire I Am Invincible out of Jamaican Rain. Jumping out well. Showing ability and off the low draw is worth keeping safe. MY BON AMIE (13) returned from a spell two weeks ago when she was beaten 6 lengths into eighth over 1000m at Werribee. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Costalotta fresh.
