Stay Focused is the likely leader at a strong tempo. Interesting race. Siding with SCAMPI (3) who resumed with a good run at Ballarat over 1100m, working home well to be beaten half a length. He's untested at 1200m but looks to have come back well and the fresh run suggests it'll be no issue at all. On his day, he's right up to winning this. GIN A TONIC (2) is the tricky one. He's been very speedy winning over 955m and 1000m in two runs down here. He has won three races at 1200m but his best ratings and recent good form has been over the short course. Regardless, he'll be in this for a long way. RECUPERATO (10) was outclassed fresh in the G3 Red Roses, much better second up in a (weak) G3 Blue Sapphire when running on strongly for second. She mixes her form but gets in with 54kg here and looks a good chance. STAY FOCUSED (1) has been okay in two runs back and this is easier while SUPERCILIOUS (8) can sprint well fresh. SUGGESTED PLAY: Scampi on top.
