Slick tempo with St Kilda to lead but under plenty of pressure in a keen early contest. HOT CARD (7) won her maiden fresh up at Taupo, and her next 2 starts have also been full of merit, including her last run at Te Aroha when finishing third as the favourite. Warren Kennedy sticks with her, and so do we. Follow your money. ARGO (5) capped off some strong Ellerslie form with an easy maiden win at Te Aroha just over 3 weeks ago. Dropping back from 1400m to 1200m should do him no harm, and with the aid of a 3kg claim, he can make his presence felt here as well. HARD ROCA (1) has been mixing his form in some strong fields at Ellerslie, and has been placed in his only start on this track. He is rock hard fit and should be right in the finish. FOXGLOVE (2) will be peaking third up after opening his season with a pair of fourths at Pukekohe. She has a good draw and won't be far away. Include in all combos. FANCYPANTS (3) does not have all the luck in his races, but if everything falls his way, then he is capable of winning this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hot Card can take this out, and include Fancypants to be safe.
