Not much early pace and doubt they will go hard. LOVE REBEL (6) had been well educated before her 0.2L defeat here over 1100m on debut. Picked up impressively, and this is winnable with the extra fitness and learning. CANTANKEROUS (4) returned with a narrow defeat at Ipswich over 1200m. Has the rail and Huxtable and is still shy of his best. Can figure prominently. DAWSON DIRECTOR (2) faced the starter for the first time in the same contest beaten 2.4L. Is still a work in progress, but maps well and has weight relief with the 3kg claimer engaged. Is sure to progress for the elite stable and can feature. BOLD CHANGE (1) will be fitter and has a few things in his favour, including the blinkers on again. Won't be far away. MIDNIGHT MAGGIE (7) debuts and was an easy trial winner here earlier in the month. A betting watch. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Love Rebel.
