Solid tempo anticipated with Oakfield Universe kicking up on the inside with Dwayne pressing on from the outside draw.
BRAINIAC (7) returned a career-best figure last start when she wound up late and was beaten under a length over this distance at Hawkesbury. Very fit mare who doesn't meet any champions here so this looks her big opportunity to break the ice. MAXIMUM RIDE (6) has produced two eye-catching performances to kick off this prep, the pick of the runs a desperately close fourth when resuming over 1000m at Gosford. Nicely in with 56kgs under today's scale and he should be rock hard fit now. DWAYNE (1) returns from a 19-week break. Competitive at the provincials and in town when last in work, although the best efforts were over more ground. One to keep safe while fresh. CITY GOLD FIELD (5) is back after a ten-week lay-off. Good effort to finish fourth at Hawkesbury at this stage last prep. Should give a good account. Market watch on OAKFIELD UNIVERSE (13) who is first-up from a short spell and is a new arrival in the Kris Lees yard. SUGGESTED PLAY: Brainiac to win with a saver on Maximum Ride.
