Off the low draw Beiwacht is likely to find the lead at a slick tempo. Onto our G1 feature, the Manikato Stakes. On ratings, BEIWACHT (5) is clearly the one to beat having belted his rivals fresh in the G1 Memsie over 1400m when leading throughout. He's become a real specialist at that trip and back to 1200m isn't ideal at all but he's still quick enough to land in the first couple here and he might just be too good for them. OLIVEANOTHERDAY (9) was favourite for this race off a dynamic fresh win in the G3 The Heath here, then just battled as the $1.60 favourite down the Flemington straight. Excuses offered there, back around a bend and a touch more give in the track look ideal from a gun draw. EXTRAGALACTIC (13) was fantastic fresh in the G1 Moir, up to 1200m with J-Mac booked is perfect, she'll just need a touch of luck from the low gate. GIGA KICK (1) found the Moir too sharp at 1000m, he ran fine. Much better suited here and we know his best is top shelf. Jury out on JIMMYSSTAR (3) who was plain in the Memsie, blinkers on here could spark him up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Beiwacht on top.
