Strong tempo with Nomomeikushi and Aye Aye Skipper leading the way over Ensign Parker. HARD JAKKA (5) has the clearest recent claim after going under by only a neck in a Class 1 at Coffs Harbour, and the effort had extra merit given he began awkwardly and was held up around the home turn. The Wyong run prior was plain, but this looks a more suitable assignment if he reproduces the latest. O'BRITZELLE (10) resumes from a six-month break and is the fresh runner with upside, helped by a Tuncurry trial placing, weight relief and a proven record at the distance, though her last two race starts leave some risk. COCO DREAMING (2) was strong first-up at Coffs Harbour after being held up and not fully tested, so she looks the reliable danger second-up. ENSIGN PARKER (3) is fit and honest enough for the mix after leading and tiring at Muswellbrook, but he must finish off more cleanly to turn a placing profile into a winning one. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hard Jakka to win.

Distance record is a positive, but she needs a much cleaner finish. |
