Moderate tempo with Miss Trombari leading the way and a few others keeping in touch.
DARCI LANE (1) won here on debut four runs back but has struggled since. Given a 39-day let-up since finishing ninth in a strong form race over this course and distance. Draws a better gate this time. Not a great deal of depth to this race so he can bounce back. MAHALER (3) came from near last to collect his maiden win two back over 1400m at Murray Bridge. Outclassed in town last time but can make amends in this more suitable contest. OUR BEAU (4) settled near the tail of a big field then went through the gears nicely in the run home to be beaten under two lengths over 1500m at Gawler four days ago. Should prove tough to hold out over this slightly longer journey. OR AM I (5) took 18 runs but finally broke the maiden over this trip at Murray Bridge recently. Can go on with it now. HEAT OF THE NIGHT (7) comes back in distance and can run a better race. SUGGESTED PLAY: Darci Lane on top but without a great deal of confidence.
