BLUE SYMPHONY (5) sets the standard on current form after placing again at Kochi, finishing second to Shamal over 1300m after also running third behind Vin Quet Domingo. He is consistent, proven at the course and has enough distance evidence to offset the query of stretching back to 1600m. WIN WURDE (2) is the classiest track-and-distance profile in the race, with seven wins and four placings from 15 attempts here at the trip, but he resumes after two plain runs and must be judged on his best rather than his latest figures. GOODWOOD GUY (4) was well beaten last start, yet his prior fourth behind Mizuwario Kudasai was sound and he brings a more competitive recent reference than that latest margin suggests. LORD IN FIGHT (3) also has to rebound from a flat sixth behind Lyra Bond, but his third two runs back and outstanding Kochi 1600m record keep him firmly in the discussion.

He has placed twice from five at this track and distance, but recent form leaves him with plenty to repair. |
