EDEL KRAFT (9) has the most appealing profile among the main chances after placing at Kochi last start and having the measure of Cheerful Run and Benten Kagura in that same recent meeting. He was beaten nine lengths, so there is still a winning edge to find, but he has at least produced the clearest result of the key runners. BENTEN KAGURA (6) rates as the next danger on set-up rather than raw recent margins; she was fifth behind Wonder Muse last time and is race fit, though she must turn the tables on both Edel Kraft and Cheerful Run. CHEERFUL RUN (4) was respected in betting when fourth here and has a strong jockey-trainer profile, but the fair finish last start keeps him from being a clear top pick. MEISHO YU GEN (7) comes through 3yo Maiden runs at Chukyo where he was not beaten far by the standards of this field, and the class drop gives him a genuine place-to-win fringe if he sharpens at Kochi.

Still unplaced after five starts, so she appeals more as a place hope than a winner. |

The class drop is some help, but the drop back in trip and overall winless profile keep him in the each-way fringe only. |

That came after a distant tenth in a 3yo Maiden over 1800m at Chukyo Dirt. He meets Benten Kagura again having beaten her here, though Edel Kraft still has his measure on that form. A strong chance if he finds a sharper finish third-up. |

The class drop is the only obvious positive, with his nine-start unplaced record leaving him with plenty to prove first-up. |

Race fitness and the class drop keep her in the winning conversation, but she must bridge a fair gap. |
