Anticipate a moderate tempo is a race devoid of recognised speedsters. M T WALTZ (10) sets the standard after a much better third behind Vip Regius at Mizusawa last week, beaten two and a half lengths after being well found in betting. The sharp rebound from a poor 1300m run is the right profile for this C2. LOVE MANIC (9) is the main danger, with her seventh in 3yo+ C1 company reading better than it looks because she was only beaten three and a half lengths and had earlier been a close third at Morioka Dirt. GOLDEN SYRUP (7) brings the best last-start margin of the key chances, finishing third over 1300m here, though the drop to 850m is the question. MAY STORM (1) has been beaten heavily at his past two, but the return to this shorter trip and proven distance record keep him in the minor-money mix.

Backing up quickly, she brings the strongest recent effort and should be hard to beat. |
