Genuine tempo with Val D'orcia leading the way. VAL D'ORCIA (3) gets the first call despite two plain recent form references, because he comes back from higher-grade dirt assignments and joins a leading Kochi yard with H Yoshihara booked. His Fukushima Dirt run was poor, but this looks a more suitable level if he can rediscover his broader career form. DANON TOUCHDOWN (4) is the other clear class runner, dropping out of Open company after a weak Niigata Dirt effort; the 1400m rise is the obvious test, though his Sapporo margin two back reads better than the finishing position. BUSTER CALL (7) has the cleanest recent local run, beaten a length here over 800m, and looks a genuine threat if that form carries to 1400m. EMPHASIZE (9) resumed with a solid second behind Meisho Clift and is fit enough to hold a place in the winning conversation, but his distance record keeps him just behind the top pair.
