PIKO MARQUISE (5) has the most reliable local profile, having won at Kochi two starts back by four lengths before running third as a well-supported favourite behind Lord Belfast. That defeat leaves a query, but his track record and proven 1300m form keep him clearly in the main discussion. PALMIER (4) brings poor recent margins from Niigata, yet the class drop and third-up setting give her scope to improve sharply if she adapts back to 1300m. SUZUKA ROSE KING (8) was decisive here last start, beating Riffle Force by four lengths, and a repeat of that effort makes him a genuine danger. RAVINIA PARK (1) was well beaten last time but had won here the start before from Cosmo Tuxedo, so he profiles as the best of the place chances if he recaptures that earlier finish.
