Reasonable tempo with Patricia probably leading but a few others should keep her honest. GRACE RULER (1) is the assessed top seed despite coming off a plain seventh at Mizusawa, where she was beaten over 14 lengths after being near the top of an open market. The positive is the softer 3yo C2 set-up, race fitness and a kinder draw, but she still has to produce a clear turnaround. HAPINA STAR (2) brings the strongest current form, charging home to miss by half a length here after a solid Morioka Dirt third, and his placed record with Masatoshi Yamamoto reads well for this. PATRICIA (5) has been around the mark with a neck second two runs back and some market support again last start, though Hapina Star had her measure at Mizusawa. JOLIE SA KI SE (9) is the value place-to-win danger after a long-odds second here, but she needs to convert that improved effort into a more decisive finish.

Her Fukushima 3yo Maiden run over 2000m was also well held, but she is race fit now, drops in class and gets Ryo Takamatsu from barrier one. The recent margins are a concern, yet this looks a more suitable assignment if she can lift sharply. |

He has placed in all three rides for Masatoshi Yamamoto, and although the trip still has a small query, he is close to breaking through. |
