Expecting Opawa Jack to take up the running with Urenui and Bozo close at hand. OPAWA JACK (2) has been building up his fitness with some solid efforts on the poly track at Awapuni this prep. He only peaked on his run late when finishing third 6 days ago, and he will relish stepping up from 1700m to 2040m here. Stick with him. PRIDE OF ASPEN (5) has found winning form again on some testing tracks in small fields, completing a hat-trick of wins when scoring at Hawera nearly 3 weeks ago. She is well weighted and has to be respected again. BOZO (8) was a game third at Riccarton 3 weeks ago, and she will be even sharper for this assignment. She prefers it wet and should figure in the finish again. URENUI (6) was a brave third in a good field at New Plymouth a fortnight ago, and steps up to a middle distance for the first time in this prep. Each way claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Opawa Jack is ready to win again at short notice. Include 5-6-8.
