GOING: S(5)

CANTERBURY HURLSTONE PARK RSL UP AND COMING STAKES 1300m

Track: Soft 5   Rain (Max: 16)   Rail: +3m Entire. (Pent: 5.39)

A keen contest with Aerodrome and Crown The King leading from Sixties. PROVIDENCE (2) smart colt who resumes after racing without luck over the Queensland carnival. Has residual fitness on his side after running on late when fourth in the G1 J J Atkins over the mile at Eagle Farm on June 14. Fitted with a solid trial win over 902m and gets his chance. SIXTIES (4) improved sharply at his third career run when handling the heavy (9) going for a slick 7 len win over 1150m at Randwick Kensington. Big jump in grade and ready to take the next step. FERMOY (8) improving Zoustar colt who closed off on resumption with a respectable fourth over 1300m at this track. Will drift back early and expected to be strong late. GRAND PRAIRIE (3) up in class when a close second to Skyhook over the 1100m in the LR Rosebud over 1100m here. Gets his chance with the fitness edge. AERODROME (1) resumes. Raced at the highest-level last season and returns with the two good trials under the belt. SUGGESTED PLAY: Providence to shed his maiden tag.
