No surprise if the debutants played a key role in the tempo of the race with little speed on paper. Tricky. YAKITORI (10) resumes and wasn't beaten far as favourite at Ipswich on debut. That reads well enough and she's trialled well for her return. Well-bred and she will be naturally improved. MAGIC INVADER (12) led beaten 2L at Ipswich and then was expected to win at Beaudesert but missed the jump badly after proving difficult to load. Some trust required but he has the ability. SOLIDUDE (5) resumes with a trial here under the saddle. He races forward and threatened a couple of times in his maiden preparation. He's likely to race well. PIPPIE POMAR (8) debuts and owns a trial win here. The gate is awkward but she profiles well. SILVER SMASH (9) debuts and won a recent trial at the Sunshine Coast. Maps well and deserves a betting watch as well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Yakitori appeals most.
