Genuine tempo with the speedy Rager leading the way. HURRICANE CONI (1) resumed with a narrow defeat at Goulburn, and it was a big effort off a wide gate. The local is proven second-up, and the longer trip suits. Has a handy 3kg claim back in grade and can go one better. RAGER (7) deserved the win in this grade at the Sapphire Coast. Raced an equal favourite and Budler stays aboard. Rates well enough and will get every chance to run the mile. CALL ME ARTIE (5) is better suited at this level and has a 2kg claimer up. A dry surface suits him better, and he'd be in the finish at best. JANNIK (2) is hard to catch but has been racing okay in stronger races. Gives away starts and the step up to the 1600m should advantage him on a 6-day return. In the mix. ROCKATHON (10) is better than the form line suggests and maps well. A value proposition. SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Hurricane Coni.
