Genuine tempo with the speedy Sidoni leading the way. Competitive. SURE INTENTIONS (4) went close at Goulburn and deserved the Maiden win at Orange following. Draws awkwardly but keeps the handy 2kg claim and can repeat the dose with average luck. STURTY (2) didn't have the best of it at Canberra but worked home well, and this is easier. Finally draws an inside barrier, and Heywood is a key jockey booking. SHOOTING FIRM (8) wasn't beaten far in Maidens at Goulburn and has weight relief. On a quick backup, and has to be considered. SNITZ AND STRAAND (6) is a well-bred local on the improve. Gets in light with the 3kg claim and should be around the mark. ANNOINT (1) was a good Maiden winner at Taree on the heavy. Maps well and has a handy 2kg claim. May need it wet to excel, but needs to be kept onside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Sure Intentions.
