HOKUZAN GOLD (4) sets the standard on recent substance, having won here over 1700m two starts back before being beaten half a length by Namura Jimmy in 3yo+ B1B2 company. His Sonoda 1870m record gives him the most reliable profile. MADAM HAWK (3) is the main danger, freshened since a third over 1400m in 3yo+ A2 grade and suited by the class drop, though the rise in trip remains the obvious test. DIA GRAF (7) arrives third-up after beating Kimino Heart by two lengths over 1700m, so the winning form is genuine, but he still has to stretch it to 1870m. RAY AND DANCE (2) was beaten only a neck by Namura Jimmy last start and has the track-and-distance record to keep him in the argument, provided he reproduces that sharper effort rather than his plain run behind Light Pillar two back.
