EYE ON THE BALL (8) sets the standard after a dominant first-up win at Kasamatsu over 1400m, putting nine lengths on Odontoglossum and doing it as a runner near the top of betting. The extra ground to 1580m is the obvious new test, but that margin gives her the strongest single piece of recent form. ANCIENT DANCE (1) is the main danger, coming through a neat three-length 3yo+ C8 win after a sound third at her previous start, and her Kasamatsu record adds weight to the case. COPANO LANCER (5) resumed with a two-and-a-half length win and has the profile to hold his form second-up, with track-and-trip credentials a genuine asset. GREAT GENES (9) also arrives in winning form after scoring by five lengths, though he may be more a solid place-and-value winning threat than the one to beat at the new trip.

She can race handy, and if she handles 1580m, the latest win is the race's sharpest form. |
