Expecting a strong tempo with Yubae, Metal Metallica and Best Of King going forward ahead of Satono Grand and Kadosan Gambaru. BEST OF KING (8) brings the most persuasive profile, with a third to Mysterious Lady here last start and a much stronger Sonoda 1400m record than most of these. He was beaten four and a half lengths as a well-regarded runner, so the query is whether he finds a sharper finish, but third-up and with proven track-and-distance figures he deserves top billing. SATONO GRAND (9) is a seasoned danger whose recent thirds and fourth read consistently for this grade, even if the winning strike-rate is modest. ULTIMAN (10) has not been fancied recently, yet his latest fifth to Lily Park had enough substance and his long-term Sonoda 1400m record keeps him in the main mix. METAL METALLICA (7) improved into third behind Cross Knot last time and looks the best of the place-to-win challengers if he can repeat that effort rather than the plain 1230m run prior.
