Genuine tempo with Lovers Blue and Go Dancing up front. GO DANCING (1) brings the most reliable place profile into this B7 over 1400m, with recent thirds at Kasamatsu and a perfect four-from-four place record at the track and distance. The reservation is that she was odds-on last start and still beaten five and a half lengths, so she must convert consistency into something sharper. RIC NOIR (2) has the stronger winning credentials at this circuit, having scored here two runs back before charging into second behind Cosmo Fleur, and the Hiroshi Ohara record is a major support. LOVERS BLUE (8) has the best overall strike rate in the race and her Nagoya form reads well, though she was beaten five lengths as a prohibitive favourite last time and is having her first look at Kasamatsu. HIRONO EXCALIBUR (7) is more a place-value inclusion than a genuine standout; he was sound two back but his maiden record keeps the ceiling lower than the main trio.

Barrier 1 suits a natural leader and she has placed in all four tries at this track and distance, but the task is turning reliability into a winning blow. |

Four wins at this track and distance, plus Hiroshi Ohara's strong record on her, make her a serious danger if she gets into the race soon enough. |

Returns from a lengthy spell after ending the last campaign in excellent order, winning a 3yo+ C1 over 1580m at Kasamatsu by six lengths from Wornitz. He had also scored by a nose over the same trip the run prior, showing two different winning styles. The fresh run back to 1400m is the obvious test, but four wins from seven starts this season give him the profile to run well fresh without being a declared top pick. |

Past track-and-distance form gives a small reference point, but recent evidence says he needs substantial improvement. |
