KING'S MESSAGE (9) brings the most reliable recent form, with two seconds from two Mombetsu runs this campaign and a clear edge over Emeral Fine from their latest clash. He was beaten three lengths as odds-on favourite last start, so there is still a winning question to answer, but his race fitness and repeated 1200m placings make him the one to beat. KATE BAROWS (10) is harder to warm to on raw finishing positions, yet she drops back from 1600m, carries 52kg again and was better two runs ago when fifth here. EMERAL FINE (4) has placed twice from three attempts at the track and distance and can improve off a last-start third, though the margin behind Kitano Sirius was sizeable. SANTA CALIZ (7) rebounded sharply when second to Boules De Neige here and looks a genuine danger if she repeats that 1200m effort.

She had also been well held at Hanshin, finishing 14th and beaten over 15 lengths when unwanted in the market. The class drop is the obvious positive, but the back in trip and lack of exposed form mean she must improve sharply to turn that into more than a minor-money chance. |

The counter is that he has placed twice from three starts at this track and distance and again gets Fuma Ono, giving him a sound platform in a race lacking many polished profiles. |
