PINK GOLD (2) brings the strongest exposed form after running third in a 2yo Open at Sapporo, beaten just over a length by World Angel despite starting at big odds. That reads well for this 2yo COND, and she also has a Mombetsu win in the book, so she deserves top billing. SIRINDHORN (9) is the danger with the most recent win, having scored here by a neck from Dream Passion two weeks ago, though she must prove that long-odds spike was no one-off. A SHIN FREUDE (3) has been admirably consistent, winning here by half a length after a previous placing behind Cream Pan, and that reliability keeps him right in the race. FIRE PATTERN (1) is unbeaten after beating Wilfred on debut at Mombetsu, but the rise from 1000m to 1200m is the key test after a two-month break.
